About Article
Article is a direct-to-consumer contemporary, mid-century and modern furniture brand founded in 2011 by engineers Aamir Baig, Andy and Sam Prochazka, and Fraser Hall, launching its first website in 2013. Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia (with an Asia office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam), Article built its business model around eliminating traditional retail markup by shipping furniture directly from manufacturers in full containers to customers, avoiding the 300-400% markup typical of showroom retail. The company grew rapidly - from $100M USD in sales in 2017 to becoming one of Canada's fastest-growing companies - while remaining profitable for most of its history without heavy VC funding. Article sells sofas, tables, beds, outdoor furniture and decor, offers a Made to Order customization program, free interior design plans via Article Interior Design Services, an Article Pro program for trade/contract clients, and is opening physical retail stores in Vancouver and Toronto with more planned for late 2026.
